Earle F. Harvey Elected to Bankers' Bank Northeast Board of Directors Glastonbury, CT
October 5, 2006

Earle F. Harvey, President and CEO of Border Trust Company, South China, Maine, has been elected to the Bankers' Bank Northeast Board of Directors.

"One of our goals is to continue to expand our reach into all of the New England states," says Peter J. Sposito, President and CEO of Bankers' Bank Northeast. "We liked what we saw at Border Trust up in Maine - the bank is doing a lot of different things. With that bank becoming one of the newest investors in Bankers' Bank, we turned to Earle Harvey to join our board of directors."

Harvey joined Border Trust, a $90 million, independently owned banking company, as assistant treasurer in 1998. He held the position of Chief Financial Officer before being named President and CEO of the bank on January 20, 2005. Harvey's grandfather, Earle W. Harvey, founded Border Trust in 1969 and served as the bank's first chairman.

"The first time I met Earle Harvey, I liked him instantly," says Sposito. "He has a lot of energy and he likes to try out new ideas. His willingness to invest his time and energy will be an asset to Bankers' Bank Northeast."

Border Trust is one of the nearly 40 investor-banks of the Bankers' Bank Northeast, which opened in 1998. Sposito says that Harvey has been a strong advocate for the bankers' bank concept of working with community banks as a partner to meet their correspondent needs.

"I am excited to become a director for the Bank," says Harvey. "Because Southern New England attitudes tend to differ a bit from Northern New England, I'll be able to bring a bit of diversity to the board and hopefully introduce the bank to more clients up here."

Harvey began his banking career at Citizens Financial Group in Providence, RI, as an analyst in the ALCO department. He later was employed by Mellon Private Asset Management in Boston, MA.

Harvey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine in Portland, ME, a Masters degree in Public Administration from Suffolk University in Boston, MA, a Masters degree in Business Administration from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA, and is a graduate of the New England School of Banking at Williams College in Williamstown, MA. He is a founding member of the Topsham Expresso Rotary Club in Topsham, Maine, serves on the Board of Trustees at the United Baptist Church in Topsham, is on the finance committee of the Brunswick Downtown Association, serves as a board member and treasurer of the Southern Mid-Coast Maine Chamber of Commerce, has served as a volunteer for the United Way of Mid-Coast Maine, and is a member of the Bath YMCA Finance Committee.

Harvey resides in Brunswick, Maine, with his wife, Tracey, and their two sons, Jack and Thomas.

The Bankers' Bank Northeast based in Glastonbury, CT serves over 150 community banks throughout New England and New York. It is a state-chartered institution that is FDIC insured and a member of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston.
