Richard B. Lockwood, III

Director Business Development & Marketing
Richard Lockwood has over 35 years of diverse financial and marketing experience with ten years concentrated in strategic planning, marketing research and analysis, profitability forecasting, sales and business development, wholesale and retail marketing, product management, development and implementation. In addition, he has 15 years experience in correspondent banking and has been both a commercial and consumer loan officer. His diverse career responsibilities have required a strong working knowledge of and interaction with various regulatory agencies, law firms, data system service bureaus, marketing and advertising agencies, leagues, associations and other industry related organizations. He has been active at both the regional and national levels. During his career, Mr. Lockwood has held various officer positions with a number of Boston banks including: BankBoston, Bank of New England, State Street Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston.
He is a past member of the New England Bank Marketing Association, The Ad Club of Boston, past director of PDMA-National, director and past Chairman of The Veterans Outreach Center Metrowest. Mr. Lockwood also spent 12 years as an adjunct professor at Northeastern University and former faculty member at the New England College of Finance. He has taught a number of courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels including: Introduction to Marketing, Marketing Management, Advertising Management, Bank Marketing, Selling Financial Services, Principals of Banking, Building Financial Relationships, and Marketing in the Services Sector. In addition, Mr. Lockwood co-authored and published a financial marketing case study, which has been used in the graduate schools at Harvard University, Babson College, and as part of the Executive Management Program at Simmons College. He has also co-authored a college textbook, Fundamentals of Banking, published in 1989 by Ginn Press.
Mr. Lockwood graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Finance, and an Associate in Science Degree in Business Administration. He completed a post graduate program at Harvard University and graduated magna cum laude with a concentration in Business Administration and Management.
